Two levels of recognition, one platform.

Basic level

Quartz

Entry-level certification for events that meet all mandatory sustainability requirements. Upon completing the certification, you will receive a digital certificate.

Mandatory criteria

  • The event organizer informs the parties involved about the event's sustainability plan and its implementation.
  • The carbon footprint resulting from the event's travel is calculated.
  • The catering company has a sustainability policy.
  • The carbon footprint associated with energy consumed during the event is calculated.
  • Sustainable water use during the event.
Advanced level

Amber

Full certification for events that go beyond the baseline. A digital Amber certificate is issued on completion.

Requirements

Everything in Quartz, plus at least 10 optional criteria

Mandatory criteria

  • The event organizer informs the parties involved about the event's sustainability plan and its implementation.
  • The carbon footprint resulting from the event's travel is calculated.
  • The catering company has a sustainability policy.
  • The carbon footprint associated with energy consumed during the event is calculated.
  • Sustainable water use during the event.

Optional criteria (choose at least 10)

  • The venue has a sustainability policy.
  • The accommodation provider has a sustainability policy.
  • Cultural heritage preservation.
  • Protection of natural values.
  • Feedback from the parties involved in the event regarding the implementation of the sustainability plan during the event is being collected and analyzed.

GreenEvents offers two certification levels: Quartz, the entry point for every organiser, and Amber, the advanced level for events that go further. Here's what actually separates them.

All types of events—conferences, festivals, seminars, corporate events, and sporting events. There is no minimum number of participants.

No, the Sustainability Fundamentals course is not mandatory to begin the certification process. It is an optional opportunity to deepen your understanding of key sustainability topics and better prepare for the assessment. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to download a personalized certificate confirming your course completion.

The system uses internationally recognized emission factors for energy, transport, and catering. You enter the data, and the calculations are performed automatically.

Quartz meets all mandatory sustainability criteria. Amber represents the highest level—it encompasses all Quartz criteria, plus at least 10 optional criteria.

After completing the certification, you can download your certificate in PDF format.
